After a few months of searching we were very happy to find what we instinctively knew would be a great location for a B&B, not to mention a lovely house in a beautiful area of North Devon. We moved here in May 2014 with an idea of creating an ‘exclusively yours’ style B&B in the detached Annex of the property.
Set on the south side of our courtyard, we wanted guests to benefit from the property’s great central location in the village, and to be able to relax in the comfort of their own space and to have their own private access.
We finished renovating in August and welcomed our first guests later that month!
Barney (aka Andrea) and Tom own and run The Burrows, and we are delighted to be able to offer you our hospitality during your stay.
Barney grew up in North Devon and returned to the area 3 years ago after 16 years of living abroad working in the hospitality and catering industry. Always focused on providing great customer service, Barney’s work took her from the French Alps to private yachts in the Med, where she then met Tom over a glass or two of Rose! Discovering a shared love of the outdoors, the sea, and a zest for life, settling back into life in North Devon was an easy move!
Tom followed a similar path in life, growing up in the South East of England but with a strong affinity to Devon having holidayed here every year as a child. The hospitality gene seems to run in his family, with both an Uncle and Aunt running very successful B&B businesses of their own! An enthusiastic surfer, sailor and member of the local yacht club, Tom is also a keen craftsman, and has recently been honing his woodworking skills at home, and much of his handiwork can be seen throughout the Annex and within our courtyard.
We both look forward to welcoming you to stay at The Burrows B&B, and we’ll always be on hand to offer our help in any way we can, to make your stay an enjoyable and memorable one!
